Professional One-Line Bio:
Multidisciplinary artist and founder of Chitta Arts Studio, Shri M. M. Jinendra Jain transforms imagination into monumental sculptures, cinematic sets, and timeless paintings that bridge heritage and contemporary art.
Artist Biography
Born in Mallodi village of Sagar taluk, amidst the lush landscapes of Malenadu, Shri M. M. Jinendra Jain discovered the magic of drawing from childhood. The natural beauty of his village shaped the earliest stirrings of his artistic vision—textures, colours, and forms that still echo through his mature works. His artistic foundation strengthened at Srivardhamana Vidyarthi Nilayam, Shivamogga, during his B.F.A. studies, where he received mentorship from the renowned painter “Varnabrahma” S.R. Venkatesh. His journey expanded further under the guidance of National Jakanachari Award recipient Shri Kashinath, whose sculptural mastery refined Jinendra’s dexterity in both form and structure.
His formal pursuit of painting at Hampi Kannada University brought him into contact with many established artists, deepening his understanding of artistic philosophy and preparing him for a lifelong creative path. With growing mastery in drawing, painting, relief sculpture, and static sculptures, he evolved into a versatile artist with an expansive creative reach.
Chitta — From Mind to Mind
With visionary intent, Jinendra founded “Chitta Arts Studio” in Laggere Layout, Bengaluru—an institute built on the philosophy “From the mind to the mind — for the minds.”
"Chitta" symbolizes the creative essence that blossoms within the mind and seeks expression in the external realm. Through this studio, he has shaped a vibrant creative ecosystem, inspiring, supporting, and launching the journeys of emerging artists.
Chitta has become a powerhouse of artistic production—ranging from sculptures and paintings to architectural sets for festivals, religious ceremonies, heritage installations, film productions, and cultural events across Karnataka.
